What is a Cacao Ceremony?

Ancient traditions performed by healers from Central & South America along with the Aztec and Mayan indigenous people regard the Cacao Spirit as a feminine energy that is linked to the emotional body, the creative voice and a way to openly communicate with God/Creator/Spirit have used cacao, “plant medicine” to release blocked or negative energy so that you can open the heart. Cacao is a heart opener and helps to create feelings of pleasure and emotional intimacy. Mother Cacao holds the gifts of unconditional love, joy and kindness offering a loving connection with yourself and others. Cacao’s energy is healing, motherly, gentle and speaks to the heart. Sacred inner wisdom is released along with a strong renewal in your truth, clarity and focus. As a part of the ceremony an intention is set. These intentions are something desired to manifest or to let go of. Cacao ceremonies give you clarity and allow you to gain a deeper understanding of who you are and your journey.

In working with cacao plant medicine, shamans and healers embrace its healing nature as a guide in navigating uncertainty, confusion, losses, pain and suffering. Along the way, healing and connection to the Great Spirit is experienced deeply. Appreciation of the four elements: earth, fire, air and water are acknowledged, and we are reminded of their significance in our ability to survive and thrive.
